Sean Hagerty

Sound Design & Original Composition

SEAN HAGERTY is a sound designer, composer, and violinist based in NYC.

With the immersive theater company Third Rail Projects, he's created site-specific soundtracks for Then She Fell (Bessie Award), Ghost Light (LCT3), The Grand Paradise, Ikaros (La Jolla Playhouse), Midsummer: A Banquet (Drama Desk Nomination) and Sweet and Lucky (Denver Center for the Performing Arts).

From old school houses and converted hospitals to vast warehouses, desert parks, and a converted step-truck at Burning Man, Sean is deeply interested in exploring  how music and sound interact with the performance space and audience experience.

Other select theater credits include The Gospel According to Heather (Theatre 555), Around the World in 80 Days (Davenport Theater), and The Anthem (Lynn Redgrave Theater) with director Rachel Klein, Drift (New World Stages), Hit the Body Alarm (The Performing Garage), and Hound of the Baskervilles (Weston Playhouse, Theatre Squared). Circus performances include Eventide (3AM Theatre) and engineering for Company XIV.

His passion for narrative story telling with sound has lead him into podcasts including Soundings (NYRB), The World to Come, and The Girl Who Wasn't There (Audible), as well as the upcoming audio book Still, the Sky, written by Tom Pearson.
